Since early 2011 the City of McKinney has been developing an On-Street Bicycle Master Plan. This plan will create a vision and framework for an on-street bicycle network that provides safe and efficient routes connecting bicyclists to key destinations, such as historic Downtown McKinney, the City’s Hike and Bike Trail network, parks, schools and shopping. The On-Street Bicycle Master Plan will provide the City of McKinney and its residents tools and strategies to create a bicycle-friendly McKinney. The plan also identifies costs and funding options for consideration upon implementation.
The development of the plan is a result of a community-based cooperative effort between McKinney residents, local bicycle advocates, City staff and a professional bicycle planning consultant. The plan is now available for public review and comment. Please email Dan Heischman if you have any questions and/or comments (see link below).
The draft On-Street Bicycle Master Plan is scheduled to be presented before Council at a City Council Work Session on APRIL 23, 2012.
